Zared & Jennifer Wedding | St. Stanislaus & The Reata

Karissa Wright Productions had an outstanding opportunity to photograph and film at Oakdale’s The Reata for Zared and Jennifer’s August summer’s end wedding. Years, months, days, and hours were prepared and executed to make this one day of celebration of their union possible. However, for every story, there is a beginning, so let’s start there!

How They Met

To begin afresh brings a desire to let go of the past and to focus on the future. This philosophy can apply to many things we go through in life, but for Jennifer, her last few days of work was the end of a prologue to the beginning of her love story.

During the last week of Jennifer’s position before transferring to another job, a group of new employees came in to start their training with one of them being Zared.

If you had not read Zared and Jennifer’s Engagement session blog featuring where they had their first date in San Jose, click here to learn more about their character and the rain that came upon us that day.

On their first date, they spent 8-HOURS together (no, that is not exaggerated)! I would not be surprised if it were in that first date that they knew that they were the one for each other.

Finally, The Wedding Day

What I haven’t seen done more often on a wedding day is taking advantage of a neat Airbnb home that you didn’t have to clean to prepare or even clean afterward, and you can also stay the night if you have guests that need to stay overnight the day before and after the wedding. Being from out of town, Jennifer took advantage of this option and gave her family an place to stay after the reception.

What I love most about Catholic weddings is the tradition of the groom seeing his bride for the first time when she is escorted down the aisle by her parents to give her to him. Zared could not stop smiling the whole time she was walking down and even as they kept giving each other sweet glances at one another a smile was still on both of their faces.

The Reata Reception in Oakdale, CA

With the maximum guest-count occupied, Zared and Jennifer celebrated with their family and friends with food, music, a surprise bride and groom shoe game, drinks, cake, and of course dancing. If dinner wasn’t enough, guests were also able to go outside to order tacos from a taco truck (or what my family calls a burrito wagon even if they only serve tacos haha!).

Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Castillo! It was an absolute delight to be a part of your special day <3 May your love story grow in strength and truth and be passed down as a legacy to future generations.
